March's Parish Council meeting has had a change of date etc. It will now be held on Wednesday March 11th to accommodate the pre-planned activities of one Councillor.

February's Parish Council meeting has just passed.
It was Monday 9th Feb in the Reading Room at 7:30 pm. The Agenda is now published and available on the website.

The problem of falling down walls is not uncommon, and the graveyard at St.Stephen's church is no exception. However, great news, North Yorkshire Council have agreed to fund repairs and they're underway. What a difference it'll make.
The Parish Council has been operating for over 2 years now with only 4 Councillors. Consequently there have been times when a scheduled and planned Parish Council meeting hasn't taken place as there must be at least 3 Councillors present for the meeting to be quorate, and therefore legal. There is a vacancy for a fifth Councillor. Maybe you, or someone you know might be interested? If you are, just talk to any Councillor, or to the Clerk.
The Council, once again thanks The Wykeham Estate for its support in providing such a wonderful Christmas Tree. The Council, in recognition of the Estate's generosity, have made a donation to St. Helen's Church as a gesture of appreciation and a "thank you". The tree will be taken down shortly, and plans are in place for an even brighter one this year.
At its meeting on 29th December the Parish Council set a precept of £28,000. This is £1,000 more than the 2025/2026 precept. Taking account of the loss of some £3,000 of grant from the former Scarborough Borough Council, this increase is just under 4%. For a Band D property it will be an increase of £2.39 for the year
